MARSBOREAL
Sustainble design in hostile environments

Its more than Mars, its a reality

With climate change the environemnt we live in might change drastically. The Marsboreal Habitat design is inspired initially by interest in better understanding how to design sustainable architecture in a rapidly chanding environment. The following documents the preliminary design for a greenhouse that satisfies the basic requirements for a greenhouse -- sufficient space, water source, light source, and plant growing method installation. The design fulfills the requirements of a habitable and durable space on Mars-- materials selection, deployment, Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS), and temperature and environmental resistance.

The design first participated in the NASA 2019 Big Ideas Competition, where it recieved special recognition and support to attend the International Conference on Environmental Systems in July 2019.
